Frequently asked questions

What is a family orchestrator?

An app that connects the areas of family life in one system: planning with calendar and lists, communication via messages, safety with map, check-ins and tracking, plus shared memories. Orchivia defines this category.

Is Orchivia free?

Yes. The Free plan costs nothing and includes the calendar, lists, the messenger, the map with check-ins and playdates — playdates even stay free forever. Calendar sync, more storage and live tracking are part of the paid plans.

How are our messages protected?

Message content is stored encrypted (AES-GCM), with a separate key per family. On top of that comes the business model: no ads, no data selling.

Where is our data stored?

For customers in the EU, Orchivia operates its own EU data regime: hosting in the EU and a GDPR-native architecture. The operator is the US company Orchivia, based in Sheridan, Wyoming.

Which hardware works for live tracking?

Any GPS tracker that speaks the open Traccar standard — from key fobs to kids’ watches. You are not tied to any hardware brand. Tracking only happens with the explicit consent of the person concerned.

Who pays in the family?

One person. All family members are included in the subscription — there is no per-seat price.

Are prices gross or net?

Net. At checkout, our payment provider Paddle adds your country’s sales tax and itemizes it.

How do I cancel — and can I get a refund?

Paid plans can be canceled monthly. The refunds page explains when a refund is possible (in German).

How do we delete our account?

Directly in the app under Settings — or step by step with this guide (in German).

Are there Android and iOS apps?

Orchivia runs as a web app on any device with a browser — phone, tablet, desktop — and installs to your home screen like an app. Native apps for Android and iOS are in the works.

How does Orchivia handle children’s data?

Child profiles belong to the family and are visible only to it. Location sharing happens exclusively with consent. All details are in the privacy policy.
